Two sample of mortar was taken each on 1:2 cement sand ratio. On one sample 10% of Silica Cement Admixture was used. Mortar was molded on 100*100*5 mm flat sample.Each sample was tested on Abrasion testing machine for upto 1000 spins and the worn volume of mortar was recorded for each 250, 500, 750 and 1000 spin. The graph between number of spin and worn volume was plotted.
It is clear from the table and graph that mortar with 10% silica cement admixture has less worn volume. Which shows its better to use silica cement admixture with mortar for better strength and prolong life of mortar.
